Mike Hagan’s Fall Hunt
Mike Hagan, Bass Pro Shops Pro Staffer and friend of Derby City, had a great fall turkey season. Mike is a seasoned and very successful hunter. He lives to hunt, but he also lives to get others involved in the outdoors. Mike is a great ambassador for getting our youth started in hunting. Our Newest Addition – Hot Calls !!!
Derby City would like to introduce the newest addition to our game call line, heat treated maple. The heat treating of wood originated around 10,000 years ago with the Australian Aboriginals and was found to make the wood more resistant to outdoor conditions and very stable dimensionally. This process is very time consuming but the benefits definitely out weigh all the work. The most striking aspect of the treated wood is the coloring, heat treated maple varies from light golden brown all the way to a rich chocolate. This process colors the wood all the way through so there is no worry about scratches, dents, or dings as the calls just get more beautiful with age and the way these calls blend into the woods is just spectacular.
Derby City’s Flame Maple calls will be available through Bass Pro Shops starting this Spring. If you really want to make it special, order it from Derby City and get custom laser engraving for an additional $10. Give us a call or check out our product line.
Calling Contest at Bass Pro in Clarksville
Bass Pro in Clarksville will be having a calling contest this Saturday, August 14th. The divisions are as follows-

On site registration 9:30-11:30 Contest begins at 12:30
